If temperatures are in the 90s, it must be Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo week.

Continuing a tradition of hot weather and hot action, the rodeo gallops into Mitchell this week with events kicking off at noon today with the Midcontinent Rodeo Golf Classic at the Lakeview Golf Course, followed by a 5 p.m. rodeo mixer at the Highland Conference Center and a 7 p.m. NBRA Barrel racing event at Horseman?s Sports Arena, just north of Lake Mitchell.

Temperatures are forecast to be downhill from Monday?s high of 105 degrees, but the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls is predicting a high temperature of 94 degrees today and 89 degrees Wednesday. Highs will jump to 98 degrees Thursday, 100 degrees Friday, 103 degrees Saturday and 98 degrees Sunday.

The good news is that temperatures are expected to fall to the 75-degree mark each night.

Following is the rodeo week schedule and ticket information.

Tuesday

? 12 p.m.: Midcontinent Rodeo Golf Classic at Lakeview Golf Course.

? 5 p.m.: Rodeo mixer at Highland Conference Center.

? 7 p.m.: NBRA barrel racing at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

Wednesday

? 4 to 8 p.m.: Celebrating Badger Clark, South Dakota?s cowboy poet, at Dakota Discovery Museum.

? 7 p.m.: Jackpot team roping at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

Thursday

? 8 p.m.: Rodeo performance at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

Friday

? 8 a.m.: Slack at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

? 8 p.m.: Rodeo performance at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

Saturday

? 10:30 a.m.: Rodeo parade on Mitchell?s Main Street.

? 8 p.m.: Rodeo performance at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

Sunday

? 10 a.m.: Cowboy church service at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

? 12 p.m.: Chili cook-off and country music showdown at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

? 8 p.m.: Rodeo performance at Horseman?s Sports Arena.

Rodeo tickets

Tickets for reserved seats are $15 and are available in advance and at the gate if any remain, and can be purchased online at cornpalacestampede.com/tickets or at County Fair Food Store, Mitchell.

General admission tickets for adults are $11 in advance and $12 at the gate.

General admission tickets are $5 for children between the ages of 4 and 12. Children 3 years old or younger get in free.
